For two hundred years, James Lambert, a young doctor, has lain unrecognised in Thorney Abbey graveyard.

But he was no ordinary practitioner. He was first doctor ever to have an obituary in a medical journal.

And then he was forgotten. Until today.

So how did an Essex boy, who practiced in London and instigated a trial at Westminster Hall that attracted thousands and had national newspapers holding their presses for the verdict, end up in Thorney?
