Two hundred years after being banned from his alma mater, Guy’s Hospital has recognised the key contribution James Lambert made to instigating modern health care.
Today I unveiled a plaque that commemorates the courage he showed to challenge the medical establishment, helping to bring about transformation of the profession and public hospitals.
He now takes his place alongside other notable Guy’s alumni including John Keats and John Fry.
